Rod Stewart began his epic career in the music scene after spending some time as an apprentice with the Brentford Football Club; he toured Europe with the insanely talented folk singer Wizz Jones in the early sixties. Early on in his career, he was a member of a number of bands including the Birmingham-based R&B group Jimmy Powell & the Five Dimensions, Long John Baldry's band, the Hoochie Coochie Men and blues-rock combo Shotgun Express. But that’s not all, Rod Steward has also sung with the Faces (who rivaled the Rolling Stones in their prime!!).
In the late sixties, the veteran singer fused his folk roots with R&B and rock influences, crafting a distinctive, raw acoustic-driven rock & roll sound that marked him as a true trailblazer. He’s even been dubbed the finest singer of his generation!! Amazing.
